GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Grand Rapids Police detective James Vakertzis brought home a gold medal from the World Police and Fire Games in the Netherlands.
He metaled after bench pressing 400 pounds and lifting 590 pounds in the dead lift.
The games bring out nearly 10,000 people who work in public safety to compete in over 60 sports.
