Thunderbirds in Battle Creek for Field of Flight Air Show

BATTLE CREEK (WOOD-AM) - The iconic Thunderbirds are now in Battle Creek for this weekend's Field of Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival.

The F-16s landed last night at Battle Creek Executive Airport.

"In our closest passes, we are 18 inches apart and that's from the top, the canopy of the wingmen, underneath my wing tips, so our wing tips will actually overlap by a good 10 feet," Lt. Col. Justin Elliott told WOOD-TV.

The Thunderbirds were scheduled for 2020, but the pandemic canceled the air show.
