GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The National Weather Service is urging people to keep a safe distance from Lake Michigan waters and to not venture out onto piers.
A beach hazards statement remains in effect through at least this afternoon.
The alert has been posted for Mason, Oceana, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren and Muskegon counties.
