Cities and counties in West Michigan are opening cooling centers to the public as a way to get out of the heat expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Ottawa County will open cooling centers at the Gateway Mission, the Herrick District Library and the Grand Haven Community Center.
The city of Kalamazoo will be opening fire hydrants from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m.
