MDHHS approves new behavioral health hospital

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is giving the green light for a new behavioral health hospital in Kent County.

Trinity Health Michigan and Universal Health Services are partnering to open Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Byron Center.

The hospital will house 96 beds and is expected to employ 170 workers.

Southridge Behavioral Hospital is expected to open in 2024.
