GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Republican hopeful for governor Perry Johnson is now suing in federal court to try to get on the August primary ballot.

The Michigan Supreme Court has rejected his case and two other cases from fellow Republicans.

State election officials ruled that five people running for the GOP nomination, including Johnson, turned in too many fraudulent signatures.

Johnson wants the state to stop printing ballots until the courts resolve the issue.
