Formula production to restart at Abbott

Some relief could be coming to the national baby formula shortage as a West Michigan plant is scheduled to restart production on Saturday.

Abbott Nutrition voluntarily recalled certain types of formula earlier this year after reports of babies getting sick were linked to Abbott formula.

An FDA inspection found the Sturgis plant needed to address violations before production could resume.

It could still be weeks before parents see product more readily available on store shelves.
