Police investigating woman accused of tying dog outside shelter all night

The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a woman allegedly left a dog tied up for almost 12 hours.

Employees at the Harbor Humane Society arrived at work on Saturday around 7:30 a.m. to find a dog tied up outside the shelter without food or water.

The animal had been there since 7:55 p.m. the night before.

Deputies are still investigating and will work with the Ottawa County Prosecuting Attorney's Office to determine if charges should be filed.
