Canvassers to decide whether gubernatorial candidates make primary ballot

LANSING (WOOD-AM) - Canvassers will decide today which of the 10 Republican gubernatorial candidates will make the August primary ballot.

Attorney General Dana Nessel's office now has the case involving 36 petition circulators who are accused of compiling nearly 70,000 fraudulent signatures for several candidates.

Donna Brandenburg, Michael Brown, James Craig, Michael Markey and Perry Johnson did not file enough valid signatures, the state's election commission said.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. It will be streamed online.
