Environmental and city leaders are celebrating the completion of cleanup efforts at Muskegon Lake.
Muskegon Lake was declared "an area of concern" in 1987 and efforts to clean the area began soon after that.
Muskegon Mayor Ken Johnson says the logging industry created thousands of jobs in the area but left tremendous damage to the environment and wildlife.
