Kent County Sheriff Michelle LaJoye-Young says many shots were fired by an estimated five shooters in the parking of East Kentwood High School on Thursday night.
The incident occurred after a graduation ceremony for Crossroads Alternative High School.
LaJoye-Young says a white Hyundai sedan drove into the parking lot as people were exiting the ceremony and people inside the vehicle began shooting.
The car sped away and a group of people who attended the ceremony attempted to shoot back at the car.
A 16-year-old boy and 40-year-old women were injured but are expected to recover.
