Gas station proposal for downtown Big Boy site pulled

GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - The Big Boy restaurant in downtown Grand Rapids appears to be staying - at least, for now.

A proposal for a gas station has been withdrawn from the Grand Rapids Planning Commission after negative feedback.

Police were also concerned about the proposed new business at Pearl Street and Mount Vernon Avenue exacerbating crime and substance abuse among the homeless.
