Lawsuit against GRPD filed over December accidental shooting

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Daevionne Smith of Grand Rapids has filed a lawsuit against the city of Grand Rapids, as well as the Grand Rapids Police Department, after an officer accidentally firing his gun in an incident back in December of last year.

Smith is claiming assault, battery and gross negligence, along with asking for $7.5 million in the federal lawsuit.
