After an investigation into the incident, the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office says detectives determined a woman's description of the night she was stabbed was "unfounded."
The woman originally told investigators she arrived at her home around 7:30 p.m. Monday and found a man in her bedroom.
The woman said after a short fight, the man stabbed her and then ran away.
The sheriff's office says there is no threat to the public and no unidentified suspect at large.
