The Big Three 4-22-22
1 The funeral for Patrick Lyoya will be held today on Grand Rapids.
Lyoya died when shot by a Grand Rapids police officer with during a struggle on the ground and a fight over the officer’s taser.
Rev. Al Sharpton will be in town to deliver the eulogy. The attorney for Lyoya’s family, Ben Crump will also speak.
A group of protestors organized by Black Lives Matter gathered at the Capitol in Lansing yesterday to call for the officer to be arrested and prosecuted.
More protests are expected this weekend.
2 CNN+, the streaming service that was hyped as one of the most significant developments in the history of CNN, will shut down on April 30, just one month after it launched.
3 Three major US airlines announced yesterday they will let some passengers banned for mask violations back on their flights. Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines said they will allow passengers back on their flight rosters on a case-by-case basis. The decision was sparked by rulings and countermoves this week on the federal mask mandate for public transportation.
