The Big Three 4-8-22
1 A federal jury will continue its deliberations Friday in the trial of four men accused of plotting to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer over her handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It will be the fifth full day of deliberations as it has not yet reached a verdict.
On Thursday the jury asked the judge to again see evidence related to the bombs the men were allegedly trying to build.
Defense attorneys argue they were entrapped.
If convicted, the four men could face life in federal prison.
2 Pelosi has the ‘Rona
Her test results became public, curiously, just moments after the news that China warned it would take strong measures if U.S. House of
Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited Taiwan next week and said such a visit would severely impact Chinese-
U.S. relations.
3 Gov. Whitmer sued Thursday to protect abortion rights, asking a Michigan court to overturn a 176-year-old ban on murdering a child in the womb in Michigan that may take effect if the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling is vacated.
The governor, who is up for reelection this year, was expected to request that the Michigan Supreme Court quickly take the case rather than let it wind through lower trial and appellate courts.
