Kent County could purchase Cannonsburg Recreation and Ski Area.
The Kent County Board of Commissioners is approving a request from the Parks Department to submit a grant application to make the move.
The grant application will go to the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.
The 272-acrea area would cost around $10 million.
The grant could cover up to $7.5 million with the remaining funds coming from multiple local agencies.
