1 Pfizer and BioNTech are launching a clinical study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a vaccine that targets the Covid omicron variant.
CEO Albert Bourla expects the vaccine to be ready by March.
A variant to the variant. A sub-variant of the Omicron variant has been detected in two patients in Washington State.
It's unclear if the new subvariant is more or less transmissible and lethal than the original omicron
2 New York’s mask mandate struck down.
State Supreme Court Judge Thomas Rademaker says the state Department of Health did not have the legal authority to implement the mandate.
Hochul announced in December that masks will be required in all indoor public places in the state unless the businesses implement a vaccine requirement. The move came shortly after the emergence of the omicron variant.
Governor Hochul vows to fight the decision.
