1 5 states have shared that patients have tested positive with the Omicron variant.

2 Schools throughout the state have closed due to copycat threats around safety following the killings at Oxford high school. Some of those schools include West Michigan schools. Ionia, Fruitport, and Big Rapids on that list.
Oakland County prosecutors are considering criminal charges against the parents of the boy accused of killing the four Oxford students saying their actions went “far beyond negligence.”
3 Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin is casting skepticism in conversations with senators thatthe Build Back Better bill can pass the Senate this year, potentially delivering a blow to the Senate Majority leader'spush to get the bill approved by Christmas.Manchin still has a number of concerns, namely that budget gimmicks hide the true cost of the bill, and he's pushing to ensure it costs no more than $1.75 trillion. But he also is seeking to pare down the bill, whichpassed the House last month, in a number of other areas, including paid family leave, a methane fee on emissions from energy producers and a Medicare expansion to cover hearing costs.
