The November 2 election went off smoothly in West Michigan.
Kent County Clerk Lisa Posthumus Lyons says voter turnout came in at 19.99 percent, which was just shy of the 20.65 percent record turnout in 2019.
Lyons says 66 percent of all votes were cast via absentee ballots.
The trend of more absentee voters is continuing after no reason absentee was approved in 2018.
