MDARD: Don't drink Bowens Mills Cider

State officials are warning people to not drink cider from Bowens Mills in Middleville.

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development says it is issuing a cease-and-desist order for the business as they are operating an unlicensed cider processing facility.

Officials say the business has not been inspected which is leading to concerns.

MDARD spokeswoman Jennifer Holton says the cider is labeled as pasteurized however, Bowens Mills does not have the ability to do so.
