GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - District officials across the state are urging kids to show up for count day, which is today.
Grand Rapids Public Schools Supt. Leadriane Roby tells WOOD-TV the district will get $8,700 for each kid in attendance.
"Come to school every day. School is important. We have worked very hard to have our young people in school and we want them here. We want them to have the best school year possible," Roby said.
There are two count days each school year. This one counts for 90 percent of district funding.
