Grand Rapids Police Department says the number of illegal weapons they have seized this year is alarming.
Fifty-five guns were seized as evidence in the last three weeks.
Police say many of the guns are coming from legal gun owners who did not lock up their weapons.
GRPD Sgt. Dan Adams says they are concerned with the pattern they are seeing.
The department says they are only 30 guns away from reaching the total amount of guns recovered in all of 2020, and its only August.
