DNR expected to accept red flag swimming ban

The DNR discussed the proposal for dangerous water conditions during a meeting on Thursday and decided to defer any action until September.

A DNR spokesperson says it gives more time for feedback on the change.

The idea is to keep people out of the water when conditions are dangerous and the DNR would be able to ticket individuals who ignore the warning flags.
