Enhancing greater Grand Rapids through sports, and fostering economic development by attracting sporting events which improve the quality of life of the citizens of West Michigan! That has been the mission of the West Michigan Sports Commission since it was created 14 years ago and headed up by still current president, Mike Guswiler. Hundreds of events later and the creation of things like the annual Meijer State Games of Michigan and the West Michigan Sports Complex, we check in with Mike during this episode to talk about the commission and its growth and impact here in West Michigan, and what is next as far as 'Bucket List' items or events that they would like to bring into the Grand Rapids area in the future!!
