Zoos in West Michigan are preparing to vaccinate some animals with a COVID-19 vaccine developed in Kalamazoo.
Zoetis Inc. is donating the vaccine to Binder Park Zoo and John Ball Zoo, along with almost 70 other zoos in the nation.
Senior vice president of global biologics for Zoetis Mahesh Kumar says they began developing the vaccine when they heard about several dogs in Hong Kong that got COVID-19.
