Five West Michigan communities are using $14.8 million in funding from Congress to expand mental health services.
The money will be given to Allegan, Barry, Berrien, Branch and Ottawa counties.
Mark Witte with Allegan County Community Mental Health says the funding will help them respond to needs they normally wouldn't be able to.
Witte's office currently sees 1,700 clients, however Witte says the added funds may give them resources to serve an additional 500 clients.
