The Sherman Lake YMCA Outdoor Center is getting a boost from the Michigan Department of Educaiton as it prepares to reopen for the summer.
The camp will receive $2.3 million in grant funds.
Zach Klipsch, CEO of the non-profit organization, says they normally serve 2,500 kids at camp and another 5,000 through school programs.
The goal of the funding is to help bridge the education gap students fell into due to virtual learning.
