Pandemic continues to cause challenges for road construction

West Michigan road construction projects continue to experience delays caused by the pandemic.

Elli Blonde, a spokesperson for the Road Commission of Kalamazoo County says labor and material shortages are impacting improvements and repairs.

The project on Nichols Road in Kalamazoo Township, south of Ravine Road is seeing delays due to steel supply.

The commission was set to replace the traffic signal as part of the final stage of the project in August, however the signal may not be replaced until November.
