GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Ahead of a budget vote later this month, Defund the GRPD and the local chapter of Justice for Black Lives will push for further Grand Rapids Police Department budget reductions during a rally today in downtown Grand Rapids.
Both groups want the GRPD's budget to be reduced to 32 percent of the general fund, which is lowest percentage allowed by the city charter.
The event is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
