Galesburg-Augusta school officials are heading back to the drawing board after the bond proposal failed by two votes on Tuesday.
The preliminary results show a vote of 805 to 803.
The bond would be set at 1.5 mils or $6.25 per month for the average tax payer and would have generated $14.99 million for the school district.
Superintendent Wendy Maynard-Somers says they aren't ready to give up.
