The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is lifting mask requirements for outdoor gatherings of less than 100 people and venue owners are welcoming the news.
The order begins May 6 and will run through May 31.
Mark Fitzpatrick, director of the Parks and Recreation Department in Ada Township, says the changes make outdoor events more convenient.
Officials say they will continue to follow capacity restrictions to limit the spread of infection.
