The Southeast side of Grand Rapids has been making news for homicides, shootings and other crimes but The Diatribe is trying to change that.
Executive director of The Diatribe Marel Fable Price says the community doesn't always see how dynamic the residents of the area are.
Price says they are working on the 49507 Project which aims to teach Ottawa Hills High School students about gentrifications, redlining, housing discrimination and art.
Students will work with the community and artists to design murals for the community.
