GRAND RAPIDS (WOOD-AM) - Health officials in Kent County say any decision about a proposed vaccine passport wouldn't come from them, but would likely come from governments at the state or federal levels.
Local venue operators say proof-of-vaccination requirements may also come from touring groups or sports leagues.
"If it becomes a reality, it might be something that a touring artist might require, or a promoter might require," Richard MacKeigan, the regional general manager for Van Andel Arena and DeVos Place, told WOOD-TV. "I think most likely it’s going to be a professional league, an NBA or an NHL. Then if that were to happen, then I could see many venues falling following suit."
