The man who died after a four-hour standoff with police in Montcalm County on Sunday has been identified.
Thirty-eight-year-old Andrew Allen Courser of Edmore died after he was shot by troopers.
Michigan State Police say Courser fired shots at officers as they arrived at the scene and troopers returned fire.
Courser then barricaded himself in a barn with a gun and would not follow police orders.
He pointed his gun at officers and was then shot by a trooper.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
