The shipping company for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine says it knows why the doses spoiled.
McKesson Corp. says the gel packs that were used were too cold.
The vaccine must remain in a small range of temperatures in order to be effective.
McKesson says they are working to ensure problems do not happen again with the gel packs during shipping.
Michigan received at least 21 shipments containing spoiled doses.
