Two who were killed in a drive-by shooting in September had come to the U.S. after they were apprehended at the border as children.
Sixteen-year-old Santos Reinaldo Padilla Banegas and Twenty-year-old Elmer Geovany Lopez Tol were brought to West Michigan by Bethany Christian Services and were living in foster homes.
Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker says they had no gang ties and were completely innocent.
The pair were killed on September 16 around 5 p.m. when someone open fired from their car at South Division Avenue and Wilbur Street.
