The Rasmussen family tragically lost their 16-year-old daughter Molly in June.
Molly suffered from epilepsy and drowned while swimming with friends in Rockford.
The family was flooded with support from the community and decided to ask the community to do acts of kindness in Molly's honor.
The Rasmussen family went out to eat and decided to do an act of kindness and pay for a stranger's food.
The family didn't know that the strange was Kent County Sheriff's Deputy Sawyer Christensen who was one of the first officers on the scene of their daughter's death.
The family said the conversation they had after Christensen introduced himself will help them with the grieving process.
