Grand Rapids police say Aveion Cloud was the teen who died on Thanksgiving.
The 17-year-old was the 34th homicide of the year in Grand Rapids.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. near Leonard Street and Fuller Avenue on Thursday.
Cloud's mother says police called her and she rushed to the scene.
She wanted her son to know she was there.
