The Grand Rapids City Clerk's Office had a long line on Friday afternoon as people cast their absentee ballots.
Some people in line needed to register to vote.
While the office close at 5 p.m., anyone who was in line before that was able to wait to complete their business.
Wait times reached a peak of 40-50 minutes.
