LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — State officials say a governor-created task force has presented 28 recommendations meant to help protect the health as well as safety of Michigan’s nursing home residents and staff.
Recommendations from the Michigan Nursing Homes COVID-19 Preparedness Task Force were presented to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer Monday.
The task force report laid out four strategy areas, each with multiple recommendations, including resource availability, quality of life, staffing and placement of residents.
In a statement released Tuesday, Governor Whitmer said, “I will carefully review these recommendations and continue to work closely with the task force and our partners to strengthen policies to protect nursing home residents, staff, and their families."
