LEIGHTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Sheriff deputies in Allegan county are investigating a deadly crash involving horseback riders.
The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday on 146th Avenue.
News 8 was told by the Allegan County Sheriff’s Office when they arrived on scene, they discovered that three horses, each with a rider, were traveling westbound on 146th Avenue, and a car also driving westbound crashed into two of the horses.
One of the riders deputies said, 26-year-old Brittany Fender from Schoolcraft, was taken to the hospital and died from her injuries.
Authorities said that both horses that were hit died at the scene according to police.
Allegan County deputies are investigating the crash.
