GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials with the Amway Hotel Corporation announced Wednesday the company will lay off 580 employees due to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
AHC said the layoffs would impact team members at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, JW Marriott, in Grand Rapids, Courtyard by Marriott, in Grand Rapids, and the recently opened AC Hotel, at 50 Monroe Avenue NW in Grand Rapids.
The Amway grand Plaza Hotel will be hardest hit with the loss of 355 jobs.
Company officials said the layoffs are expected to occur Friday, July 31.
