Police ticket barbers for cutting hair at Michigan Capitol protest

LANSING, Mich. (WOOD/WLNS TV) — Three persons received citations for cutting hair during a protest outside the Michigan Capitol Wednesday, while roughy 12 barbers and hair stylists defied stay-at-home orders to give free hair cuts.

Police estimated about 350 people attended he demonstration to protest the orders imposed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

After being warned by Michigan state police, the barbers were cited for disorderly conduct, engaging in an illegal occupation or business, and their cases were referred to the state attorney general.
