Flooding causes Ottawa County to declare state of emergency

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (WOOD) — Officials in Ottawa County say they have declared a local state of emergency due to flooding.

Emergency management leadership in Ottawa county declared a state of emergency on Sunday. That act was the first step to tracking activity and damage if the need to ask for state or federal assistance arises.

The Sheriff’s Office in Ottawa County said the Flood Warning was issued in the area of Robinson Township until Sunday, May 24.
