GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Why are hospitals struggling during a pandemic? It’s a question many are asking.
“Why are we still under a lockdown when the hospitals are not overflowing? In fact, not only are they not overflowing, they are empty and laying off employees?” asked Grand Rapids resident Susan Miller.
The reason is the executive order restricting elective procedures at hospitals to make room for potential COVID-19 patients and to reduce contact between people.
