GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — An early Monday morning fire on the Grand Rapids’ West Side killed a woman in her 40s and left her husband in critical condition.
“At this point, the cause has not been completely defined. Investigators are out here from our Major Crimes Team, as well as the fire investigator,” Grand Rapids Police Department Sgt. John Wittkowski said.
The fire at the home on Jennette Avenue NW between 10th and 11th streets was fully involved when firefighters arrived just after 6 a.m. The house that burned sits off the street, like many built in an era when multiple homes were placed on one parcel.
