WML Friday: New iPhone 11, Climate Strikes, & Justin Trudeau

The new iPhone 11 and what's new with Apple, Justin Trudeau's brownface photos surface in the media, and students are skipping school for a worldwide climate strike.

BIG 3

1  Apple's new iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are now available in stores. They were available to pre-order following their launch last week. The Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS) and the Apple Watch Series 5 (GPS + Cellular) are also available in stores today. So far, the reasonably priced phone is getting kudos for its improved battery life and new camera features.

2 Another day, another apology from Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. After a third incident emergedof him wearing brownface or blackface, he was forced to meet with reporters for the second day in a row to say he's sorry for wearing racist makeup. He also flat out said he doesn't remember how many times he's worn blackface. Trudeau, known for his uber-progressive views, insists he's still an ally in the fight for social justice. But this scandal and other recent political hiccups could mix to seriously threaten his chances at re-election next month.

3 Climate activists are planning climate strikes Friday as part of a global protest calling on world leaders to better address climate change. Around 20 events are taking place in Michigan.

·The US Navy says some videos that claim to show UFOs are indeed showing unidentified flying objects. So does that mean that your crazy uncle with the tinfoil hat has been right all this time about an impending alien invasion? Not exactly. The Navy is saying while it doesn't know exactly what the objects in the videos are, it doesn't necessarily mean that they're visitors from another world. Apparently pilots see a lot of things in the air that aren't easily explained, so the Navy is now being more transparent about these UFOs so people will be more comfortable about coming forward and reporting them.
