1 Investigators believe a recent rash of gun and cellphone store thefts are related and that gangs are behind them.
There may be multiple groups of gangs involved with ties to national gangs, likes the Bloods and Crips.
2 Searchers and family members say there's no giving up as the massive rescue efforts for 2 firefighters missing off the FL coast rolls into its fifth day. The Coast Guard, along with half dozen other agencies including the US Navy and several dozen civilian search teams, are on 24-hr patrol.
3 Markets are looking to the Fed this week for more indications of further rate cuts. Minutes from the Fed's July meeting will be released today, a meeting that featured a 25 basis point cut in rates. But 10-yr Treasuries have fallen since then, and investors will be interested to see how much support was voiced for further cuts at that meeting. And on Friday, Fed Chair Powell will speak in Jackson Hole, WY.

Winds will shift from the west-southwest early to the north-northwest by late in the day. Lake Michigan will get choppy with 2-4 foot waves by mid-afternoon. Do not swim near or jump off the piers and breakwaters – currents may develop.
