Deputies: Missing Dowagiac man may be in danger

DOWAGIAC, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in tracking down a missing southwest Michigan man who may be in danger.

Larry Paul Waldschmidt, 78, was last seen around 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says Waldschmidt was working in his yard, located on Jefferson Street near the corner of Henry Street in Dowagiac, about 45 miles southwest of Kalamazoo.

Authorities say Waldschmidt has Alzheimer’s disease and is dependent on insulin, which is why he’s considered endangered.
